A special screening of The 19th Annual Animation Show of Shows will be presented free for Claremont College community. Hosted by Intercollegiate Media Studies.

The Show features the work of eight women directors in many of the 16 internationally acclaimed animated short films from Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.S. The program includes the extraordinary stop-motion musical The Burden from Swedish director Niki Lindroth von Bahr, grand-prize Cristal Award winner at the 2017 Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Other program highlights include Los Angeles-based Irish director David OReilly's visually stunning Everything, based on a 1973 talk given by the renowned British-American philosopher Alan Watts, and the 1964 classic Hangman by Paul Julian and Les Goldman which was recently restored by The Animation Show of Shows, Inc. as part of its film preservation program supported by grants from ASIFA Hollywood and The National Film Preservation Foundation. Finally, we are also proud to include Dear Basketball, which walked away with the Academy Award for Best Short Film (Animated) in 2018.

All 16 films will be shown at this 93-minute screening.

Not rated: All ages 6+, contains mature themes and images some may find disturbing that appear in the program.
